Mission Statement

Northeast Lakeview College empowers its students for success by offering educational programs and cultural enrichment opportunities.  The College provides quality teaching, measurable learning, and public service that contributes to the earning of associate degrees and certificates to improve its community’s future.

Upon completing the Cloud Computing Associate of Applied Science Degree program requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will be able to:

  • Assess and plan migration from on-premise to Cloud solution environment
  • Identify methods and tools to maintain security and protect data
  • Differentiate between the various storage, computing, and networking options
  • Identify deployment and management options
  • Deploy available services for scalability, reliability and high availability
  • Use Cloud monitoring and auto-scaling services to scale infrastructure up and down
  • Explain network threats, mitigation techniques, and the basics of securing a network
  • Secure administrative access on routers using AAA
  • Implement firewall technologies to secure the network perimeter; configure IPS to mitigate attacks on the network
  • Implement endpoint and Layer 2 security features
  • Implement secure virtual private networks.

 

Upon completing the Construction Management Associate of Applied Science Degree progam requirements at Norheast Lakeview College, students will be able to:

  • Apply effective communication, both orally and in writing.
  • Apply the skills to estimate quantities and costs for the bidding process in a construction project.
  • Apply the aptitude to schedule a basic construction project.
  • Apply current technology related to the construction process.
  • Apply the interpretation of construction documents (contracts, specifications, and drawings) used in managing a construction project.
  • Apply basic principles of construction accounting.
  • Apply basic surveying techniques used in building layout.
  • Understand basic principles of ethics in the construction industry.

Upon completing the Cyber Defense Associate of Applied Science Degree program requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will be able to:

  • Recognize, evaluate, and assess internal and external threats to network security conducting vulnerability assessments.
  • Design, implement, and manage secure networks using the principles of defense in depth and system hardening in a Windows or Linux environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments of systems and networks. Recommend appropriate risk mitigation tools and strategies for identified threats.
  • Utilize system tools, practices, and relevant technologies to monitor network traffic, identify indicators of compromise (IoCs) and minimize effects on the system.

 

Upon completing the Database Administration Associate of Applied Science Degree program requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will demonstrate:

  • Demonstrate and configure the data storage architecture of the SQL server.
  • Write, maintain, and tune advanced queries
  • Manage locking options and transactions to ensure data concurrency and recoverability
  • Design and create views of data, stored procedures and triggers, and use distributed data
  • Use ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) to implement the connected data model
  • Implement a client-server application
  • Design and Implement an n-tier application
  • Use Windows Forms to implement Graphical User Interface (GUI)
  • Explain relational database theory, collect and distribute data, analyze data, data validation, and table relationships

 

Upon completing the Information Technology  Logistics and Supply Chain Management Associate of Applied Science Degree program requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will demonstrate:

  • Demonstrate understanding and application of logistics principles including transportation, inventory management and control, warehousing, packaging, order processing, and materials handling in a practical environment
  • Complete cost benefit analysis in a logistics setting
  • Understand acceptable financial practices as they relate to logistics and supply chain
  • Develop skills to solve logistical transportation problems and issues
  • Apply in a logistics setting the principles of inventory control, price determination, vendor selection, negotiation techniques and ethics

 

Upon completing the Information Technology Network Administrator Associate of Applied Science Degree program requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will demonstrate:

  • Ability to setup, configure, troubleshoot, secure and maintain networking devices to include hardware and operating system software
  • Design and manage network systems to include installation, configuration, securing and troubleshooting network devices, protocols and services.
  • Understand the skills required to gain and maintain an entry-level or higher employment in the IT industry.
  • Apply network concepts to an enterprise network, evaluate and rectify common network issues.

 

Upon completing the Power Line Worker Associate of Applied Science Degree program requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will demonstrate:

  • Apply effective communication, both orally and in writing.
  • Apply the skills to work in elevated positions that meets industry standards for safety.
  • Apply current technology related the Power Line Worker process.
  • Understand the nation’s power grid.
  • Apply how to construct, maintain, and operate the nation’s power grid.
  • Apply the aptitude to operate bucket trucks
  • Understand basic principles of ethics in the Power Line Worker industry.
  • Understand basic power line worker methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Understand basic safety hazards on a power line site and standard prevention measures.

 

Upon completing the Information Technology Social Media and Digital Marketing Associate of Applied Science Degree program requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will demonstrate:

  • Design, Implement, Analyze, and Optimize a marketing campaign on various social media platforms
  • Understand and apply campaign storytelling and create compelling content
  • Understand the laws and ethics of social media marketing
  • Understand and Apply public relations and crisis management principles in a digital setting
