Northeast Lakeview College (NLC) was officially established in January 2007 as one of the five Alamo Colleges in the Alamo Colleges District. Northeast Lakeview College sits on 267 acres at the corner of Loop 1604 and Kitty Hawk Road in Universal City, TX and provides quality educational programs taught by highly qualified faculty and supported by a knowledgeable and committed staff.
Northeast Lakeview College traces its beginnings back to 1996 as the Northeast Learning Center on Toepperwein, an extension of St. Philip's College. In June 2000, ACCD purchased a site of land at 7990 Pat Booker Road, and in Spring 2001, the first classes at Northeast Campus, an extension of St. Philip's and San Antonio College(s), were held. The Northeast Campus (NEC) continued to grow and hold classes at this location until Fall 2006. ACCD then purchased and renovated a former grocery store at 8300 Pat Booker Road where NEC classes continued to be held while the permanent site of Northeast Lakeview College was under construction. In Fall 2008, five buildings at the new campus opened and in Fall 2009, all nine buildings became fully-operational.
With its unique and diverse background, Northeast Lakeview College serves about 8,200 students from northeast San Antonio and surrounding municipalities - including Bexar, Comal, and Guadalupe Counties. The College enrollment continues to grow at a steady pace and NLC opened its 10th building, Paluxy Hall in August 2022 to expand science courses and increase career and technical programs, preparing students for in demand, high-impact careers.
In 2023, Northeast Lakeview College became the lead college for the Central Texas Technology Center in New Braunfels. In support of the growing region and student body, NLC continues to work with business and industry partners to develop program and course offerings and both its main campus and its New Braunfels location to best serve the area's economic and workforce demands.
