Northeast Lakeview Core Objectives - General Education Competencies

 

  • Critical Thinking Skills: including creative thinking, innovation, inquiry, as well as analysis, evaluation and synthesis of information.
  • Communication Skills: including effective development, interpretation and expression of ideas through written, oral and visual communication.
  • Empirical and Quantitative Skills: including the ability to manipulate and analyze numerical data or observable facts resulting in informed conclusions.
  • Teamwork: including the ability to consider different points of view and to work effectively with others to support a shared purpose or goal.
  • Personal Responsibility: including the ability to connect choices, actions and consequences to ethical decision making.

Upon completing the Associates of Arts degree requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will demonstrate:

Upon completing the Associates of Science degree requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will demonstrate:

Upon completing the Associates of Arts in Teaching degree requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will demonstrate:

AAS PROGRAM OUTCOMES

Upon completing the Cyber Defense Program Associate of Applied Science Degree program requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will demonstrate:

  • Recognize, Evaluate and assess internal and external threats to network security.
  • Design, implement and manage secure networks using the principles of defense in depth and system hardening in a Windows or Linux environment.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments of systems and networks. Recommend appropriate risk mitigation tools and strategies.
  • Utilize system tools, practices, and relevant technologies to monitor network traffic, identify indicators of compromise (IoCs) and minimize effects on the system.

 

Upon completing the Logistics and Supply Chain Management Program of Applied Science Degree program requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will demonstrate:

  • Demonstrate understanding and application of logistics principles including transportation, inventory management and control, warehousing, packaging, order processing, and materials handling in a practical environment
  • Complete cost benefit analysis in a logistics setting
  • Understand acceptable financial practices as they relate to logistics and supply chain
  • Develop skills to solve logistical transportation problems and issues
  • Apply in a logistics setting the principles of inventory control, price determination, vendor selection, negotiation techniques and ethics
 

Upon completing the Social Media and Digital Marketing Program Associate of Applied Science Degree program requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will demonstrate:

  • Design, Implement, Analyze, and Optimize a marketing campaign on various social media platforms
  • Understand and apply campaign storytelling and create compelling content
  • Understand the laws and ethics of social media marketing
  • Understand and Apply public relations and crisis management principles in a digital setting
 

Upon completing the Network Administration Technology Program Associate of Applied Science Degree program requirements at Northeast Lakeview College, students will demonstrate:

  • Demonstrate cabling and basic troubleshooting, securing and configuring PCs, switches and routers in a networking environment.
  • Develop and configure a small to medium network system based on provided networking requirements.
  • Describe the skills required to gain and maintain entry-level or higher employment in the IT industry.
  • Design an enterprise network in a virtual environment incorporating wired and wireless technologies that is secure, reliable and redundant.
